Who is Breanna Rutter

Perfect your craft and always remain humble about. That alone will take you farther than your ego can-Breanna Rutter
By Rae Warren

No money to go to a salon, no problem. Youtube has a great collection  of hair stylist to help guide you to great hair routines.,

One Youtube artists  that stuck out to me in particular is Breanna Rutter and her hair tutorials. If you are looking for a step-by step process, she is the one for you. She is currently working on nurturing her hair back to a healthier state, but at the same showing girls how to do it. I was lucky enough to interview her and this is what she said...

Age 20

How did you learn how to do your hair?

I learned how to do hair by watching my mother get her hair braided and my friends getting their hair done also . I had no problems holding the hair(extensions) in my hand and passing it to the braider for the next braid. That helped me to learn by being hands on in some kind of way.

What made you want to get involved?

I wanted to get involved with hair first , for my personal reason and then for others. I was tired of having headaches and being late to school when I was younger for my hair and I started applying myself out of frutstration and I haven't had anyone do my hair for years. The other reasons, I wanted my mom to be happy with how her hair  turned out because she would pay too much money for someone who wouldn't listen to what she really wanted.

What are some services do you provide?

I do not provide any services at this moment because I am focused on first sharing what I have and can give to the hair community, and then I will offer monetary services to and for others

What are some tips you would give African Americanwomen who have no hair skills?

First tip is to not five up no matter what. This skill will frustartes you to your wits, if you let it. You have to be willing  to go through the process no matter what and soon you will aquire skills in no time

How did you get started on Youtube?

My husband pushed me because I loved hair and sometimes I would wish there were better angles and clearer instruction in hair videos that were uploaded to YouTube . Then he said, why don't you make hair videos then? So I did and I have been since 2010.

Is there anything you would like to add?

Perfect your craft and always remain humble about it.. That alone will take you farther than your ego can.
